Application Details
Peel off the release membrane from the self-adhesive side and begin unrolling the membrane and press it to the surface. Smoothen the film from the middle to the edges with a wooden press to eliminate any entrapped air. Moreover, an iron roller will be utilized for moving on top of the applied film to guarantee an appropriate and solid grip of the bitumen compound with the base surface. Side overlaps will be at least 50mm on the selvedge and the end overlaps 100mm.
Surface preparation
The surface shall be cleaned thoroughly of all contamination like traces of curing compound, dust, grease and oil. All surface imperfections, structurally unsound, protrusions and friable concrete must be repaired with a suitable Polycrates concrete repair mortar which boosts the adhesion between the membrane and the concrete surface. Moreover, the primer also acts as an adhesive for the dust which gets collected on the surface even after cleaning.
